چکیده

Although autonomous mobile robots have been increasingly popular in a known workspace, but they face the challenging task of operation in an unknown workspace. This paper presents a sensor-based image matching for online cell decomposition to plan coverage path-that provides a mobile robot one of suitable complete coverage of an unknown rectilinear workspace. Authors develop a new method for cell decomposition that is called adaptive cell decomposition based on two assumptions. First, cells are composed by adaptive cell decomposition method from explored map. Second, virtual edges can be used to compose cells in this method. The basis of this approach is same as that of the boustrophedon cell decomposition. The proposed algorithm supports online coverage for a robot to explore unknown workspace and to achieve adaptive cell decomposition simultaneously in order to cover the workspace. Experimental Study of a Flash-lamp Pumped Passively Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser Using Cr4+:YAG Saturable Absorber

This paper deals with the experimental results of a xenon flash-lamp pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG laser using Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber. The need of a laser cavity to be integrated into a time-of-flight laser range finder is of great interest as an experimental investigation of several laser resonators. Two types of laser resonator, with different lengths, have been studied: the flat-fl...

Unified Pulsed Laser Range Finder and Velocimeter using Ultra-Fast Time-To-Digital Converter

In this paper, we present a high accuracy laser range finder and velocimeter using ultra-fast time-to-digital converter (TDC). The system operation is based on the measuring the round-trip time of a narrow laser pulse. A low-dark current high-speed PIN photodiode is used to detect the triggered laser beam and to produce start signal. The pulsed laser diode generates 45W optical power at 30ns du...

An Ant-Colony Optimization Clustering Model for Cellular Automata Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks

High efficient routing is an important issue for the design of wireless sensor network (WSN) protocols to meet the severe hardware and resource constraints. This paper presents an inclusive evolutionary reinforcement method. The proposed approach is a combination of Cellular Automata (CA) and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) techniques in order to create collision-free trajectories for every agent...

Complete sensor-based coverage with extended-range detectors: a hierarchical decomposition in terms of critical points and Voronoi diagrams

Sensor-based coverage uses sensor information to determine a path that passes a detector over all points in an unknown space. Our prior work in coverage prescribed a path for a circular robot of radius r to pass over all points in unknown spaces; in this case we set the detector range Æ to be equal to the robot's radius, r. Our prior work in Voronoi diagrams prescribed a path for a circular rob...

A 3D laser range finder for autonomous mobile robots

This paper presents a high quality, low cost 3D laser range finder designed for autonomous mobile systems. The 3D laser is built on the base of a 2D range finder by the extension with a standard servo. The servo is controlled by a computer running RT-Linux. The scan resolution ( 5 cm) for a complete 3D scan of an area of 150 (h) 90 (v) degree is up to 115000 points and can be grabbed in 12 seco...
